The death spiral of most comic shops starts and ends with new comics. Subscription Comics does not allow customers to have an unsecured line of credit to pre-order comic books.

We require a membership based on the volume of comics you will be ordering. Most new comics are ordered 6-8 weeks in advance. Your bi weekly or monthly membership dollars convert straight into pre-order store credit to secure your advanced orders.

An active membership unlocks the comic subscription portal. If you don't have an active membership you are unable to access the comic subscription portal.

Once your books arrive and are checked in, you use your store credit to check out or pay your invoice online.

The membership is your key to unlocking the ability to subscribe and pre-order comic books. Your membership dollars convert to pre-order store credit to be used to pay for the books you are subscribed to.

Your comic subscription are the title you add or subtract while comic book pre-orders are your one time purchases which are also used with your membership store credits.

Yes, you can cancel anytime. However, your membership dollars were used to pre-order comics (up to 8 weeks ahead). Once your pre-ordered books arrive and are checked in, your remaining pre-order store credit will be applied to pay for them. Any leftover balance can be used toward anything else in our online shop.

You may downgrade anytime, but please note:

1. Your membership tier must match your number of subscribed titles. For example, if you have the Bronze Tier (1–6 titles) but consistently order 18, you’ll need to upgrade to the Silver Tier (7–19 titles).
   
2. Likewise, if you’re on the Silver Tier (7–19 titles) but consistently order only 6, we’ll ask you to downgrade to the Bronze Tier to match your subscription activity.

But if you subscribe to or place any pre-order, your membership will automatically switch from paused to resumed.

Pausing or skipping a month is a great way to keep your membership active without building up too much unused store credit compared to your monthly pre-order volume. By design, you should always have roughly one full month of pre-order credits available to you since all orders are forward looking. However, some membership tiers hit a “sweet spot” where this strategy makes the most sense.

Examples:

1. You’re on the Bronze Tier but only want 2 titles per month.

2.You have 11 titles, which puts you in the Silver Tier, but your spending fluctuates month to month.

3.You want to stay subscribed and keep access to the order system, but you don’t plan to spend $30 every month and you have an excess of one month's worth of pre-order credits. In this case, skipping every other month helps keep your pre-order credit in balance.

You can skip a month easily through your membership portal, and it’s a smart way to prevent excessive pre-order credits from building up if you’re consistently under your tier’s monthly spend.

If you’ve already built up a large quantity of pre-order store credit and that balance exceeds your next 2–3 months of expected orders, pausing your membership may be the better option. This gives your balance time to even out before you resume regular ordering

If you start in the Bronze Tier (1-6 subscribed titles) and you breech the Bronze Tier (7-19 subscribed titles) then your next month subscription will renew at the higher level tier.

Alternatively, if you drop below your tier level, your next months membership will be reduced to the tier that is aligned with your current comic subscription volume.

You can buy anything that is for sale on the online store at any time without a membership.

We only require a membership for those looking to subscribe to and pre-order new comics.

Pre-order store credit is prepaid money in your account that you can use toward purchases in our shop, both online and in-store. And its only to be used in conjunction with pre-ordered titles. It works like a gift card—when you check out, your available pre-order store credit automatically applies to your pre-ordered & subscribed to titles.

Pre-order store credit is only allowed to be used on pre-ordered items as it was designed. If you use your pre-order credit to buy items "off the shelf" and use your pre-order credit, that order will be canceled and you will be asked to use an alternate payment method.

If you spend less than your store credit, the remaining balance rolls over to the next month. Since monthly orders can vary, extra built up pre-order credit build up is typical and evens out over time.

If your projected or actual spend exceeds your store credit balance, the difference must be paid using a regular payment method at checkout.

New comics have about 4-8 weeks lead time depending on the publisher. You can expect books to start trickling in as soon as four week.

If you subscribed to a title after FOC and we have extra for the shelves, we do our best to fill late subscribed titles in the order people subscribed to comic titles.

Our software allows you subscribe to any title at any time. However, if you subscribe to a title after its "final order cut off" (FOC) date then you may miss the most recent book.

Books ordered before FOC are guaranteed yours unless there are publisher issues.

Just make sure you are looking at the FOC date when looking at titles.

Final Order Cutoff (FOC) is the last day we dealers can order any comic to guarantee their arrival. If we order titles after FOC the we are not guaranteed to get that book.

Final order cut off is normally on Mondays. All orders are finalized by Monday 8:00am and locked in. Therefore, if you wait until the last day to order comics, you will miss the cut off.

If you want to place an order on FOC then you will need to reach out to us directly and we will see what we can do. As a members, you have direct access to a representative to the shop. By unlocking FOC carts, we risk losing everyone's orders.

If you want a ratio, you need to reach out to a representative so we can secure a price and ensure we order enough quantity available to sell it.

Ratio Incentives are not sold at cover price.

We reject any comics that are not a 9.2 (NM-) or better. However, there may be instances where damages get past quality control. If that happens then contact your representative and we will make it right.

We packed in Gemini mailers inside water resistant polybags. If your order exceeds the size of a gemini, we ship in crush proof boxes completely secured.

Regardless of when you began your membership, we bill all online customers the first Thursday of the month.

All online orders are shipping weekly, Tuesday - Friday.

As soon as your invoice is paid, and if its between the shipping window, your package will go out. If your invoice is not paid within that shipping window, then it will ship the follow Tuesday.
